BBC Radio Nottingham Interviews Taj Weekes

BBC RADIO NOTTINGHAM

Interview by: Dawne B Stewart

Dawne B interviews Taj Weekes as he speaks about the song Angry Language on his album DEIDEM.

"Even if you take a fish out of salty water, you still have to salt it."

"...so what I was saying in Angry Language is I live in this environment and I constantly have to remind myself that I have to be in it but not of it... we say we're 'learning an angry language and we're armed with the tools of rage' because the t.v. and the radio and news can arm you with rage... they bombard you with this propaganda so much that if you don't tap into yourself and be who you are truly, you will become angry. So I say I need to 'seek the spaces in my thought to unlearn what i've been taught...'"
