Taj Weekes & Adowa have been awarded the ReggaeTrain Peace and Harmony Award for "Reggae Excellence!" The TWA website has also been recognized as The Site Of The Week for giving a positive image to the music and culture.

Taj Weekes & Adowa's video for Hollow Display, the latest single from the newly released album DEIDEM, is now attracting attention from viewers on YouTube and Vimeo, among other sites. Filmed on location in St. Lucia, the response has been enthusiastic garnering comments such as "Beautiful work!! Lovely... keep movin on up!!" and "I love it, so beautiful." Taj Weekes is featured by Dermot Hussey on his show "Riffin", who provides an overview of both Deidem and Hope & Doubt, with powerful commentary on the lyrics and messages in the songs, declaring that Taj is "raising the level of songwriting within the idiom of reggae music." LISTEN HERE! 

Dermot Hussey, Program Director of XM Satellite Radio, produces and presents the show “Riffin” five times a week as well as oversees programming for XM's reggae channel, "The Joint" XM 101.  He co-authored "Bob Marley: Reggae King of the World" and produced the Bob Marley interview on Marley's album TALKIN' BLUES. With over 30 years experience in the media, Dermot  Hussey was awarded a Musgrave Medal, a Jamaican award for services to media and music and most recently was inducted into the Air Jamaica Jazz & Blues Hall of Fame for his contribution to music.

Taj Weekes & Adowa's label Jatta Records has partnered with Spectra Records for a printing and distribution deal to release both Deidem and Hope & Doubt throughout the United States and Canada in July.

Song Of The Year, a proud supporter of VH-1 Save The Music, is an international contest encouraging the art and discipline of songwriting. The Song Of The Year staff has named Taj Weekes a "Suggested Artist", finding his music impressive and suggests it for listening.
